Legend: Black Arrow of Iuz
Of the
many legends of Iuz, the one about The black arrow of Iuz is most
common. The stories have many variations but one version has the young
boy that would become Iuz the wizard (demon, demigod, military genius,
dark cleric etc.) found a treasure chest from
the
ancients. Among the many treasures he found where the 666 black arrows
of Iuz. The arrows in many respects where like the ancients arrows of
slaying, able to kill one creature with certainty. But unlike the arrows
of slaying, which are fated to kill one specific creature, each arrow
was fated to kill what ever Iuz picked at the time. Quickly
the boy was able to kill dozens of foes with ease, at range, and rose
in the ranks -and if anyone challenged him one of the black arrows
entered his heart. Some variations of the legend find not the arrows
themselves as the magic, but the quiver of the black arrow, and that any
magic arrow within the quiver become one of Iuz's black arrows of
slaying.
